Manfred Schmidt
Born 1955, he already got classic piano lessons at
the age of six but soon became a huge fan of the Beatles
and the Rolling Stones. His interests at complex harmonies
let him discovered the fantastic music world of Brian
Wilson and the Beach Boys.
Even his own compositions were inspired by the music
of Brian Wilson. Amongst others Ex-Santana singer
Greg Walker covered the song »Everyday of my
life« by Manfred Schmidt.
His passion for the Beach Boys and collecting records
led in 1988 began to his now incredible collection
of Beach Boys singles and EPs. He was the editor and
publisher of the german fanzine »California
Saga« from 1990 till 1999.
Christian Haschke
At the age of 13 he borrowed his first Beach Boys
album from a friend. It was a Best of compilation
and it was the start of his love to the music of the
Beach Boys. In 1997 he finally launched the first
german/ english Beach Boys website »Mount Vernon
& Fairway« which is still the most comprehensive
website about the legacy of this legendary band. Since
2000 he is the editor and publisher of the german
fanzine »California Saga«.
